普林斯頓大學(xué)的官方校訓(xùn)為“她因上帝的名義而繁榮”（拉丁語：Dei Sub Numine Viget），英文是“Under the Protection of God She Flourishes”。

“普林斯頓——為國家服務(wù)”（Princeton in the Nation’s Service）是曾任美國總統(tǒng)的普林斯頓大學(xué)教授、校長威爾遜在該校150周年校慶時所做的演講題目，隨后成為普林斯頓大學(xué)的非官方校訓(xùn)。在慶祝250周年校慶的1996年，普林斯頓大學(xué)的校訓(xùn)內(nèi)涵有了更宏大的伸延：普林斯頓不僅“為國家服務(wù)”，而且“為世界服務(wù)”（ Princeton：In the Nation‘s Service and in the Service of All Nations）。
